07/19/98:

Wow, it's been a while since we talked last. How's school going? Oh, right, it's summer vacation. Okay, can you put your father on the phone now?

What's new with us? Oh, how delicious of you to ask!

June found Oh, the Humanity! a growing part of the now active the den: daily entertainment network. They've got sass, they've got spunk -- they're the Shirley response to the staid Re-Run and Rod world of entertainment journalism. Back at home, we worked diligently, putting up content at a feverish pace.

July found us slipping into the lazy dog days of summer. We've been using it as an excuse for the small updates lately. Here's another excuse -- we both got big thumb blisters from playing Tekken 3 too much and we couldn't use the space bars on our keyboards. And yes, we realize that the quick among you could make a masturbation joke here by implying it wasn't just Tekken we were playing with too much. That seems rather inappropriate, though, for what is a respected family site with high moral standing.

But we're not all excuses here -- we've just been doing some site work that's just not ready to go up yet. In the coming weeks, we're planning on adding a CGI form for submitting movies to the master list, which may have a voting system incorporated so we can keep track of your votes for the worst movies of all time. And, in response to the many people who wished they could share their love/hate relationship toward bad movies with others, we're working on a forum system which will allow you to submit your own user reviews -- with gratuitous use of the word "ass" permitted!

Of course, we'll keep bringing you all the material you've come to expect from Oh, the Humanity! -- reviews, quizzes, columns, debates, and round-the-clock coverage of the return of Swing music.

Love,

Alan and Rob
