11/99:

Well, we're all packed in at our Y2K shelter.

First off, thanks to those who wrote us email, voted, and especially to the user reviewers during the "Cyber Dark Ages" as future historians will surely designate the last 8 months or so (throw in a "Virtual" with that too). You guys are the reason we're back now. You and the hate mail people (it works both ways). Seriously though -- the guilt trip worked. We are hereby officially back.

Now, we're not going to bore you with the technical details, but we've moved the reviews and content to a more editable form so there won't be any more writing reviews yet still too lazy to post them. This will result in faster updates and BIG $AVINGS for you, the esteemed viewer.

Our philosophy for the coming months is back to basics -- the little black dress is a sure fire hit. OR... we're going to concentrate on the cream: reviews, debates and columns and little else. Older content -- features, tributes -- will be deprecated over time ("you call that content? please!") and archived. Sorry student film makers, 16mm enthusiasts, etc.. we just don't have the time to keep those sections alive. Other sections (links, the FAQ) will get updated as time permits.

So thanks for sticking with us, loyal fans, and we promise not to let you down for at least a couple more weeks. ROCK ON!
