 I liked the movie Gettysburg, not because of the action but of the acting that gripped me and the the way the director put every thing together even the battle scenes that were so spell binding that it took my breath away. I loved the actors that help bring the officers that fought in that battle to life. To answer chris w., no they could never have any tanks during that time, the reason why is that tanks were never thought of until world war 1. I love learning about this battle and how it shaped the future for the united states and how we live. The love a movie this long is to find interest in it, the reason why is that they could fit every detail that took place during that battle. And the great struggle that went on in that pennsylvania town. About the author: Michael Shaara did a superb job on the book about Gettysburg, adding every detail to let the reader feel that he or she is really there.
