I thought this movie was excellent. The outstanding PRE-orgy sequence which was akin to a religious ritual. The church organ, the wall to wall red, the beautiful and fragile nude bodies..and the total surrender to their fate. I thought Kidman in particular was quite good and really tried hard to pull it off. Cruise was really in his element as someone who thinks he's a wise guy, but turns out to be totally ignorant of what's going on. The Strangers in the Night off key music was wonderful.... It was a sad, cunning, tender, deceptive movie cloaked in red and blue...smiling wryly behind its gold mask. I loved it. About the author: I study Life.
