Review:
Ahhhh...anyone who loves bad movies surely must have by now recognised Dan Aykroyd as their King. This movie is a masterpiece, a work of sheer genius which cannot be surpassed. The hideous acting, delivered badly and scripted worse, is funnier than it is meant to be, for different reasons. Loosely based on the TV classic, it has Dan as the grandson of Joe Friday, although curiously he has the same name...His sidekick is played by Tom Hanks, in a most surprising lapse by him. For the first half, Tom almost ruins the atmosphere by trying to play the role properly, but by the end he joins into the spirit, playing the Luke to Dan's Obi-wan. The loose storyline is that an occult group tries to sacrifice some chick that Joe loves, but who cares? Just sit back and let it wash away your pain...See Dan dance in goat-fur pants, Tom wrestle a giant snake underwater to save a virgin from sacrifice, and a really cool bit with a Harrier jet. Watch for the scene with The Penguin, which has a hidden meaning if you've seen Blues Brothers. Oh, and a car chase and a scene with a tank, of course. I think I saw an Illinois Nazi hiding amognst the Playboy dudes bunny babes...

About the author: The author does not exist. She is a figment of your imagination. These are not the droids we are looking for. Move on
