Review:
Danish 70's sex icon, Birte Tove, stars in this grim Shaw Brothers-produced Women-In-Prison film. It's more sadistic than other WIP-flicks of that period. Like the infamous HK sickie, "Man Behind The Sun", it deals with the Japanese brutal occupation of China during WWII. While not being as disgusting as MBTS, the violence and torture is pretty extreme for this genre. I'm very proud to say that Birte Tove (here playing a nurse) kinda resembles Roberta Collins of Jack Hill fame. She's sexy, believable and tough. The Japanese officers are hilariously cartonish and the only female Jap is, of course, a hardcore dyke! Recommended for jaded thrill seekers (aren't we all?).
