Review:
After-blow is more like it. This movie did indeed. Nolte stars as philosopher-handiman and Christie as his "Maggie the Cat" wife (complete with sprawled-on-the-couch demeanor and highball glass). Movie opens with Nolte fixing a woman's kitchen sink and their banal it's-not-really-about-plumbing wordplay. About as sexy and subtle as watching Roseanne and Tom Arnold make the beast with two backs. Once Nolte returns home and begins the tragically hip, stylized dialogue with disaffected Christie, you'll wish both of them a speedy cirrhosis of the liver. Tennessee Williams meets Vanessa Williams on the Palermo scale.
