This movie features the absolute worst acting I have ever seen. And two of the funniest scenes I have ever seen. As for the plot, radiation makes tree roots come to life and kill people. That aside, let's talk about the acting. I think the "actors" are just people who live in the town where they filmed this wreck. I've seen better acting in Sunday School plays. Speaking of church, the evil sheriff in this film was a dead ringer for my preacher! Even his voice was identical. What a hoot! Now for two of the funniest scenes. 1) Once the chairman of the local nuclear plant (a whole nuclear plant for a town of about 100 people!) is found out, he pulls out a gun, waves it around, and then blows his brians out while laughing the whole time. His laugh is the kind of polite laugh you would give to a speaker's unfunny jokes at a fundraiser. Imagine that going on for about thirty seconds while somebody waves a gun and you have this scene. 2) The "heroine" says "I wish someone would come and help us." And they do! Right after she says it the whole town drives into her yard and people start shaking hands and saying "Thank you." I was rolling! Throw in a bunch of other stupid crap and you have one great movie to bash! I would recommend viewing with at least one friend because, after all, what good is laughter if you don't share it? Some things to ponder: Roots sucking up nutrients will kill a tree? It's always better to clean up toxic spills yourself instead of calling the EPA? Tree roots can see, hear, and move? Giger counters can zero in on radiation from miles away while in a helicopter? About the author: I have seen too many movies. You may read another review, submit your own, or return home. |
