 Flash Gordon, quarterback for the New York Jets, is having a bad day. Earth is under attack, his plane has crashed, and he and the woman sitting next to him, Dale Arden, have been forced at gunpoint by mad scientist Dr. Zarkov to travel with him to the planet Mongo in order to save Earth. And you too will have a bad day if seeing this movie is a part of it. Obviously this was meant to be a big blockbuster back in 1980, but if there's any justice in this world, it didn't make enough to cover its budget. This movie is stupid, but barely watchable. Perhaps if you take it for the joke it is, right down to the Queen-performed theme song, you might have fun. Not me though. I've already seen this film once, and I can't stand repeated viewings.
