Review:
NOT the KISS record but rather a Brithorror "omnibus" written by PSYCHOman Mr Bloch. Most of the stories here appear to revolve around dead and/or inanimate things coming (back) to life. Man chops up woman, throws parts in a freezer - said cut-offs wrapped nicely in brown paper (no blood thank u very much...) start moving around; love the breathing head... Who wouldn't like to be stabbed to death via wicked scissors care of Charlotte Rampling - you'd have to think twice in the case of Britt Ekland. Nekromantik suit antics c/o the guy that wound up on Moon Base Alpha PLUS Herbert Lom's collection of little robot-men who climb various obstacles with (obviously) the aid of an extra lifting the toy just out of camera range? The maniacal laugh delivered after the "mad" person has been revealed remained definitive until Jorg Buttgereit gave us that troubled human's self-destruction in Der Todes King. Educational too; awkward use of Modest Mussorsky's "Night On Bare Mountain" & "The Gnome" from Pictures At An Exhibition (wot? no Boris Godunov?!) - best thing this side of an ELP wreckord...
