 Partly successful "What Would YOU Do" effort that justifies Schopenhauer's Evil Of The Will world-view. Character-driven narrative fails to convince - people find themselves too willing to do "wrong" too fast - with only Billy Bob (& maybe his dog...) up to the task. Will probably be remembered as Raimi's first "serious" film (Quick... was simply dreadful) & a complete departure from his Evil Dead roots. Judging by the feel of Simple, Raimi's talents could lie in the field of Theatre - his TRUE calling? Anyway, the snow looks good... You may read another review, submit your own, or return home. |
