Review:
Less a sequel, more an established re-make of relatively unseen direct-to-video stinker The Fear. After fairly disturbing/brutal intro, The Formula proceeds - a selection of individuals gather at a house to divulge their "greatest fear" (what, like banning women from exposing their armpits??); dumb move, 'cause after each secret's been aired (like a happening pair o' armpits), "Morty" - a life-size action figure that resembles a nude Freddy carved out of latex/wood - collates said info & kills each fool accordingly. Funniest phobia is the attractive woman's Fear Of Blood; without getting too coarse - wouldn't she, as a woman, wind up SCARING HERSELF? This time 'round, we get an axe-murderer dubbed "The Highway Man" along with an Indian protagonist who provides The Morty Legend with topical, spiritual, anti-colonial vibe. Part One had a sedate cameo from Wes Craven, Halloween Night's "horror icon" is none other than Betsy Palmer in (to my non-existent film knowledge) her first horror effort since losing her head in Friday The 13th. Worth watching for One Scene Alone: the aforementioned blood-woman decides to fight back, resulting in Morty smashing her face against the rim of a toilet, then drowning her (in her own blood) by pushing her head into the bowl; this actress is hard to beat (!!) as she's the only one who gives decent armpit flash. Film: 6/10. Armpits: 8/10.
