Finally, a movie that shows the lighter side of the zombie afterlife. If you’ve ever been forced to watch, say, Ed and His Dead Mother (with Steve Buscemi) this is going to be a welcome change. Humor abounds, mainly from the interaction between the cute puppy love feelings the characters have for each other, and the fact that ears and other body parts keep falling off the zombie boy when things are just starting to get good between him and his date. Good if you’re looking for a movie with a happy ending but an eccentric sense of humor. Bad if you’ve lost a close relative to leprosy or have several undead friends. You make the call.

funny scenes with the boy and his parents; the girlfriend’s tacit approval of the idea that he’s a zombie now (she’s more worried about their relationship); Cloris Leachman as the Nestor of the movie; oh, such a sweet ending
